I was trawling the web last night found this page. I have not seen it posted before, so i thought i'd post it.

Some really interesting little widgets for your desktop e.g the whole BT phonebook and the encyclopaedia Britannica. There are over 2000 of them, i'm sure you can find something you like.

Cheers for that....I wonder if the times are live to take account of cancellations etc or its just a timetable database?

The train I'm getting on Tuesday has since been cancelled and replaced by a bus service for the first part. This has now been reflected on the web app, so it is live, just not sure how live it is (i.e updated hourly, daily or weekly)

First I have heard of these - they look really useful, particluarly the train one for me. Thanks

What's the easiest way to manage these? I was just going to make a subfolder on my bookmarks and then add the link?!

Is that the intention?

i've added the most useful ones to my desktop most of them come with nice icons too.

You can do that but it's a bit long winded.

When you're on a web app, don't press the bookmark, press the "+" instead,
then choose the option "add to home screen".

Then it'll appear on you main menu with all your other apps.
So one click and you're there, no need to use Safari.

and don't forget the Iphone can take up to 9 screens of apps,
so thats 144 apps + your main 4 apps in the bottom grid that you can have on your phone at any one time (4 x 4 =16 x 9 = 144)

Just a quick post to bring this thread back to life. I must admit i hadn't heard of web apps until today.

I have been looking for a decent app to check the football scores including the lower leagues in scotland - up til now i have been using a couple of different web pages. This works ok but it was a bit of a pain having to keep zooming in and out to check different leagues etc.

Then i found the livescores web app - does exactly what i want. Typically enough my team (Partick Thistle) played their last league match of the season on 9th May. Still, not long until the start of the new season

I've only had a quick browse but there do seem to be some pretty decent apps available so thought i would post in case anyone else was in the dark about web apps.
