2g iPhone RIP

having upgraded to a 3g a week ago, I then gave my 2g to my daughter, who has since had it pinched in a club in London.
I'm not after a sympathy vote here-just damned hacked off - and a bit sad that it's gone.....
I've given o2 a call- so hopefully they can block it. It was very generous of them to offer me a new sim(!) so that they can continue to get my payg business!

I know that phones get pinched all the time- and it was daft that she took it out with her

Does anyone know what the block does??? Will it be completely inoperative- or usable with a new sim????

Re: 2g iPhone RIP

They will block the imei number making the phone side of it in operable but they will still be able to use all the other functions so it will be just ipod touch i suppose. But if they decide to take it abroad ive heard it will function as a normal phone as the block will only be active in this country.

Correct me if im wrong.

LOL. I know its rubbish having your phone stolen, not nice at all, you do have my sympathy but i also do have a little advice. Get insurance! Im saying that in a nice way, i always do and its worth everypenny. Your bank is the best place as they are usually much cheaper and offer the same bennefits and type of cover.

Re: 2g iPhone RIP

the chances are its covered on your home insurance..... have you checked?

I take my iphone everywhere, and believe i go on some benders im sure are a lot lot worse than your daughters...... there's no point in having a phone if you dont use it. And to be fair stuff gets nicked all the time at clubs.
