iPhone connect to TV

Is it possible to connect your iPhone 3G to a TV to watch video? If so how and what will one need?.

Re: iPhone connect to TV

I believe it is possible just like it is with the normal video iPods. You will probably need a special AV or component cable that attaches to the dock connector on the phone. The Apple store as well as other retailers of Apple accessories should have them. I don't think they are cheap though and go for around £30-40. I don't know what the quality is like as I've never used one.

Damn I use the 5g composite from the headphone which the iphone does not support.

Really useful when travelling to use hotel TVs. Especially if you have kids.

I have the old style cable which came with my AV kit that I had for my old 30GB video iPod. I tried it with the iPhone when I first got it only to find it wouldn't work. I thought about getting the new cable but as they are pretty expensive and I would rarely use it I haven't bothered.

Yeah looks like they needed the headphone socket to carry the mic signals etc.

I use on holiday for the kids otherwise not at all. But has been useful for that alone.
