Sold my iphone, what do I do before sending it off?

I have just sold my 8GB iphone (£200 for anyone interested) and wondered what I have to do to it before I send it away.

Is it just a case of taking out the sim and going into the settings and clicking on "Reset all settings" is there anything else I should do before sending it away?

Cheers!

Apple has a useful page here about replacing the old iPhone with the new 3G model. The page contains this paragraph about removing personal information:

To erase your original iPhone so someone else can use it, tap Setting > General > Reset > Erase all contents and settings on your original iPhone.

HTH.

Thanks for that, will hopefully be going through that procedure on Friday if I can find a 16GB iphone!

Yes, that's what I did - reset to factory settings basically and erase all data, and then removed the SIM using a paper clip. I managed to get just over £260 for my 8GB one, but that was a couple of weeks ago (as I'd anticipated that eBay would be flooded with iPhones after the new ones came out!).

Re: Sold my iphone, what do I do before sending it off?

There are reports that even doing a factory reset can still leave some personal data on the phone in some respect. Especially if the phone is unlocked.

I had to use some software on the net to make sure its all cleared. I forgot what it was called now but you did use it with WinSCP or another app that lets you connect up to your iphone and view its file structure etc.

I sold my 8GB iphone a few weeks ago and got £240 for mine which i was more than happy with.
