Wi-Fi and EDGE symbols?

Quick question - when I've got Wi-Fi disabled and everything else off (edge, Bluetooth etc) I used to get a square blue box beside the carrier symbol..........now it's got a white G in the middle. Whats that?

Re: Wi-Fi and EDGE symbols?

Let me guess you installed the installer GPRS icon fix?

The box with a G in it means you have a GPRS signal, but its only available with the installer hack - usually its just a plain white box.

Cheers - recently had to do a complete restore and then used iLiberty again. Re-installed Navizon, but never used to get a GPRS signal before?

Will this be eating my battery - can I switch it off?
