Ziphone dangers on other forums?

I have been reading the web the last few days and I am quite concerned with the amount of people on forums warning people to remove Ziphone from their iphone and to use ILiberty+ instead.

Has anyone else heard about these problems? Apparantly they can occur months or even years down the line. My iphone is great at the moment and I used Ziphone.

In the back of my mind I am thinking its just some scam to make people switch to other forms of unlocking etc.

Any thoughts?

There are definite problems with ziphone many of which may (or may not) manifest until firmware updates are released and certain things are modified.

There is a note on this in the forum sticky.

Have just read the sticky thanks. I am contemplating restoring my phone back to OOTB state and trying iliberty+ or pwnage. Can this be done on the newest Ziphone by upgrading the bootloader or am I stuck with Ziphone now?

Best bet is pwnage, just run pwnage on your iphone then restore the custom firmware you create with the ipsw builder.

It also contains boot neuter which will repair your ziphone damaged baseband.

Re: Ziphone dangers on other forums?

Hutch, is it really that easy? I used ziphone on my touch (had not found the warnings here) and it works a treat. I want to keep it that way for a long time but as a complete IT novice I'm worried that if I do as you suggests I will mess up the touch beyond repair. Anyway, I thought I read here that the damage done by ziphone was not fixable.
thanks
