Ok so new to iCloud and os 5 and I was wondering if my laptop , my iPhone with os5 and my dad's laptop are all on same wifi what stops my Dad's laptop syncing with my iCloud ?

And same goes about syncing how does the phone know not to sync with my Dad's laptop ?

Not really bothered about iCloud backups just now so really how do I ensure it is turned off? I would rather back up manually on my laptop.

Your dads laptop would need to be logged into your iCloud account with your details for it to sync with your other stuff.

I also had this trouble my ipad and iphone will sync but my mac wont via icloud then I realised it was because I need to upgrade to Lion in order to use iCloud on the mac
