You guessed right, although apparently there are Coming Soon links in iTunes Store in other countries.

Now can't decide on Spotify or iTunes Match when it arrives...

How is it cheaper? Spotify for the iPhone is £9.99 a month (£119.88 a year) iTunes Match is $25 a year.. Plus you get to keep the tracks with iTunes Match.

Just noticed something after reading various web forums, if you have more than 5gb of music and you upload to iCloud your going to have to pay for more storage.

iCloud gives 5gb free storage, so cost of that plus iTunes match.

Itunes match doesn't do anything like streaming though does it? Just takes your non itunes music and sticks them in the cloud with the rest of your Apple gear (replaces them if they have better) and allows you to download them again across your devices as you can already with icloud?

I don't think you can listen to your music without a wifi connection so it must stream them.

Nope, matched music tracks don't count towards your free 5gb allowance.

Only if you upload tracks it can't match (ie tracks not sold in the iTunes store)

It streams and downloads.
I don't think this will be for me, if I have to download tracks so I can listen to them if i am out, I might as well stick with iTunes and playlists.

Specialy with my Internet connection.

Yes I know it's not available here yet anyway.

Maybe I wasn't too clear? It streams, so you don't have to wait for the tracks to be downloaded.

The difference to other streaming services is that after it finished streaming, the track will have also been downloaded on to the device for you to play next time. If you don't want it anymore you'll need to delete it.

No I understood you gkpm, Just it would be quicker for me to connect my iPod touch to the computer with a USB rather then download the tracks from iCloud. My Internet connection is slow and I could not fit all tracks on iPod. I also change them quite often.

The fact it streams as well is what interests me. I can see it being really cool if they extend it to movies bought on itunes.

Sorry, it was me then Didn't realise you had an iPod touch.

For iPhones you can also stream iTunes Match-ed tracks over 3G.

It doesn't stream at all though, it just downloads but lets you start listening to the track whilst downloading. Not quite streaming.

Does it re-populate your PC / Mac iTunes library with 256 AAC tracks if there is a match for your existing mp3s ? If so, how does this work in practice , US iTunes account holders please confirm ?

No...you need to delete the song which then soft deletes it from your computer but shows its available in the cloud for download...then you have to click to download their copy

Can't really imagine being bothered doing this with x thousand songs (unless you can delete all and then download all?)

Why do you have a UK and US account?

Is there an easy way to tell what I have. It looks like the UK account to me, when I go into 'My Account' it quite clearly says country "United Kingdom".

The Apple AAC tracks sound way better than my mp3 and I would love to transfer.

Prior to (soft-deleting from library only, not PC) deleting a track how does one tell if there is a match for any given track ?

The US & UK accounts are separate accounts with different usernames.

To buy music and apps that are available in the US but not in UK, you need a US account. For instance, I've "Abc player" and TMZ apps which are only available in the US

I don't have an US account then, I've just searched for those titles and they didn't come up. I've definitely got iTunes 10.5.1 though, it updated last night.
