Re: New Orange 16GB 3G S Customer

My fav apps are idaft (search youtube for "getser idaft"), facebook, echofon (for twitter) and Remote.

Remote is awesome, you can control iTunes from your phone over wifi - and with a few extra toys it can be extremely powerful as I just found out

As for accessories, I just got two docks for £3 and a cable for £6 from this guy on ebay, top quality and worth the three week wait

Oh and congrats with going with Orange, consider yourself a richer man than me by 11p a month (every little helps!)

Welcome to the club. There is an App Store forum and a huge existing Case thread I suggest you have a search.

Hi go my 16gb 3Gs this morning too just had a chance to register the sim and install into the iphone connected it to my mac ...nothing..???

the phone says no service in small writing at the top and has a graphic of a usb connecting to itunes and a tab that says slide for emergencies??

What am I doing wrong please?

Itunes is the latest version, Mac is 10.4.11 - itunes is on, checked the prefs and everything seems fine there too

Any help in getting me started would be great

Thanks!!

Have you actually registered the phone? You can check by clicking on your phone in itunes (on the left hand menu)

If it is registered you'll have options to sync your iphone if not there should be a large click to register button

Hi,

When i got mine last night they did say it would take upto 72 hours for the sim card to activate, however it did seem to happen immediatley, have you gone through the whole setup process within itunes etc???

Maybe time is the answer?

Hi thanks - it could be a time thing - nothing is appearing in the itunes menu at all at the moment...

Quick idiot check..

Is it the sim from my old phone (this is what the lady from orange said to use) or the new one supplied?

Thanks again

B

i would suggest if they have supplied you with a new one then you should be using that one???

you might find if you put that one in all is solved!!!

the new sim is the one that's in the iphone at the moment but still nada.. tried the old one back in my original phone and it says limited service which would suggest that the old sim is dead and the new one is good.. suppose I'm going to have to wait, pretty frustrating though when others seem to be up and running tout suite

just off the phone to the orange support dude - and he's saying that everything that I've done so far is correct but it seems to be falling down at my itunes/mac when connected via the usb my mac isn't seeing it at all which obviously means that my itunes ain't seeing it either... this is on my work machine so will try again when I get home on my laptop

Thanks for the help so far will let you know if I have any success

++ UPDATE++

Well plugged my new baby into my laptop at home and bingo! Must have been a problem with my mac/itunes at work?? Now where are those apps

Case thread: http://www.avforums.com/forums/iphon...d-part-ii.html

Jailbreak info: iPhone Jailbreaking - AVForums.com

App Store info: iPhone App Store - AVForums.com

I would recommend the Incipio Feather case as it's nice and thin-but everyone in the case thread will have their own preferences.
