sending calendar appointments to another iphone?

Hi

When creating a new appointment on the phone, I need the ability to add receipient (send to another iphone/email address)

also i'd like to be able to send existing items to another iphone (my wife)

basically, if we're meeting up with friends one evening, i'd like to have it in both our phones

from what i read, its not possible, but not sure if any of the new OS's have added this as i'm on version 3.0

if its not possible, is there a work around?

Re: sending calendar appointments to another iphone?

I thought that's what the invitees bit was for when you set up a new appointment? Does that not send a message to the people you add so it is entered into their calendar?

If not then I think you could accomplish what you are after using google sync and both syncing to the same calendar. You could then have the synced calendar as a separate calendar in your iphone so you could add appointments either to your own one or the synchronised one depending on whether you want them shared or not.

Neatest way would probably be to set up a standard google apps account (free) for your family (unless you have one already) and then enable activesync for it and then just sync the calendar as per the instructions here.

I'm on 3.1.2, though I'm pretty sure it's not a new addition.

Ah - just realised it may well be specific to exchange calendars (i.e. what google sync uses). Since that's my default calendar I hadn't noticed the Invitees option not being there normally. I must confess that it's not a feature I've actually even tried before - though it does apparently work ok. I think you should be ok with OS 3.0 - pretty sure it supports everything you need.

Only works under Exchange environments such as those you'd use for work

I've setup a google calender account. And then added the settings into my iPhones and my wires iPhones calender settings and now when I add a new item to the calender it updates on both iPhones and the google calender, it updates the calender a few seconds after you open the app. I did it a while ago but had a quick search and found this link which might help.

I use a google sync calendar and never got the invite feature to work, I can put stuff in my calendar and the wife can see it on her iphone but we never seem to get a email asking to except the invite.
