Quite possibly the dumbest question ever (Unlock question)

Hi Guys,

Even I know this is a dumb question but given the way Apple works I just have to ask:

I'm about to unlock my iPhone through O2. Does that mean I can safely upgrade the baseband to the latest version i.e. just do a normal upgrade to 3.1.2 without no consequences to the unlock in future?

I'm thinking of course yes as it is an official unlock but I just want to confirm that there will be no problems for the future....

FYI I am still on 3.0 software so am looking to do all of this fairly soon....

Thanks in Advance!

EDIT: Can anyone also tell me how quickly the phone was unlocked by O2? They state within 14 days but am hoping it will be a lot quicker....
