iPhone and water..

Fortunately I have not yet had the unpleasant experience of comining these two incompatible elements.. and I'd like to keep it that way. I cycle to and from work most days and I'm concern that when I have my phone in my bag and it's raining it's going to get wet. I've just got some stereo bluetooth headphones so that I can seal of my iphone and don't need to have a cable running to it from the headphones and exposing it to water.

So I was wondering if anyone has used a good waterproof case for the iPhone? I've seen a few around for between £10-£20 and was wondering if anyone else had any feedback before I 'take the plunge' so to speak.

Whilst on the topic I found this interesting suggestion about how to 'save' your iphone from water damage, I guess the same principle applies to most electronic gadets, and that the success rate is variable.

In the mean time I plan on using some humble ziplock bags to keep it protected, as I was pleased to discover that you can still use the phone even inside the bags (even if I 'double-bag' it - so to speak)... bonus.

Re: iPhone and water..

How about a Tesco Value Sandwich bag?

Only about p and can be sealed using the free ties that come with it.

Just throw it away each day?

You may laugh... but why not? Ok, not the best solution for scuba diving, but to prevent a little rain getting in I think the ziplock + bluetooth headphones is quite a good solution for my daily commute. I also have the phone in one of these silicon cases, so it's got a bit of impact protection to start with Play.com (UK) - Mobile - Free Delivery

Re: iPhone and water..

I use the waitrose version of said sandwich bag!(posh me) I got the resealable ones. If in doubt bag it twice! Not had problem yet!

PLus I find if you put your iphone in the back of the bag ( nearest your back) even in heavy rain it wont be wet enough to penetrate all the way through to the phone let alone the plaky bag

Re: iPhone and water..

Wash his hands, do a special dance, open and close the bag exactly 10 times, answer it - then do all the above in reverse.
