I am getting a 3g in the next couple of days,I have a 2g jailbroken and unlocked.
What do i do
1) to duplicate my to 2g to the 3g
2)wipe the 2g(for passing on)without un-jailbreaking it or locking it?

thanks

Re: Transfering to newiPhone help

Hi

I've only done it 3g to 3gs, and on standard non jailbroken phones.

I just plugged the new iPhone into itunes and synced. I chose to setup as a new iPhone incase of battery performance issues, but this still syncs over all apps, just not as you had them arranged.

I'm not sure about wiping and keeping the jailbreak, hopefully someone else can help.

On off the wall idea. Install a trial of the mobileme software, backup contacts etc. You can the update the new iphone when it arrives and even send a wipe data to the old 2G remotely.

Re: Transfering to newiPhone help

You can sign out of the App Store via the Settings Menu > iTunes. You'd then need to know your store account details (email addy and password) to log back in. So make sure you have a strong password set in case somebody starts guessing

Then it's just a case of deleting the App Store apps and your personal data
