I set up the push email for gmail today using the Google settings for iPhone + MS Exchange, and very pleased with it.

I'd also like to do my calendar, so that whatever I enter into my iPhone calendar manually get's synced with my Google Calendar online, and vice versa.

However, I have a lot of events I have already pre-entered (manually) into my iPhone Cal app, and I'm worried these will be deleted when I turn on Calendar Sync in the exchange mailbox settings.

Will the be deleted? If they aren't, will it sync whats in my iPhone Cal App to my Google Calendar so I can sync online?

For info, I don't sync my iPhone Cal App with anything (as in, it doesn't sync in iTunes with Microsoft Exchange/Outlook etc), so the only copy of it I have it on my iPhone. My Google Calendar online is empty, as I haven't entered anything into it yet, but I'd like to have it "back up" whats on my iPhone now that Sync is supported via MS Exchange...

Well, it doesn't delete your iPhone calendar entries (you get an option to keep them) but it doesn't do what I wanted/thought it would do - which was sync whats in my iphone cal app to my google cal online, and vice versa. Which is doesn't.

It did however, totally mess up my push email (also gmail, via exchange) - after turning on calendar sync it stopped ppush from working, and turning off calendars didn't work, even deleting and readding the mailbox didn't make it work again. Had to restore to a backup in iTunes before push worked again!
