Righto, got an email saying my year warranty is almost up and I am thinking I should get the apple care 2 year package thing.

Does anyone have it? And is it worth it?

Finally, if you do have it, where did you buy it from, ive seen its £59 in the apple store but im wodnering if its cheaper elsewhere...

Could get the code, phone up Apple, see if its legit if not ask for a refund from the seller.
Some sellers seem to use a key generator which gives the code out and after a while Apple will remove it for being fake etc

I bought a US one from Ebay, and although it does not come up in the online warranty I phoned apple UK and they confirmed I was covered! And I did tell them I bought it from a US Ebay source.

Hmmm, thats interesting. I suppose it could be worth a punt @ £20 odd quid that they go for then?

I rang after a several days as I asked for postal confirmation and had not received it and was told I am covered OK. Rang a few weeks later as still no conformation again told I was covered. They said the confirmation would have been sent to the US address but I was officially covered. Will only really know if I have to use it!

American Applecare can be applied to it. I have American ones. PM me your email address and I'll do a print screen from the Apple website showing that I have it on my Macbook and Iphone.

Just to help a few people out in case they are starting to get close to their 3G/3GS warranty expiry. If you plan on keeping you iphone for another 12 months then Applecare iphone is a good idea.

Found it for £25 @ CEX

Cex.co.uk : computing : software : Apple Software : (S) AppleCare - iPhone

Have a look on the classifieds and you can buy CEX vouchers for below face value. A wise owl might combine the two and pay close to £20 for 12 months Applecare.

Saw this on HotUKDeals website the other day, looks good.

Can you apply it to an iPhone that already has Applecare (or when that Applecare runs out to be precise)?

You're right chris.chris

iPhone - AppleCare Protection Plan - Apple Store (U.K.)

tbf, the first 12 months (included) is called Applecare too. I think its a no-brainer if you plan to hold onto your iphone on a sim-only basis or if you signed up to a 24 month contract.
