iPhone 3G Factory Reset Question

Hi All

I got my new 3GS yesterday so I am giving my 3G to my Mom, I tried to factory reset the 3G last night by going to Settings\General\Reset (I think thats it) and reset all data and settings, it said it would take about an hour, so I left it to finish.

The screen then went blank after the loading bar had finished (which took about an hour), then came up almost as if the phone was booting up again, it had the little apple logo, then the spinning wheel as if it was thinking. I thought Ok let me give it some more time, about 30 mins later it was still trying to turn on but not getting past the boot screen with the apple logo and the thinking spinning circle.

I left it over night and when I woke up this morning it was still doing the same thing, any ideas as to what might be wrong with it?

Re: iPhone 3G Factory Reset Question

Try resetting by holding down the home button and power button at the same time. I seem to remember my old 2g crashing when I did a factory reset.

Re: iPhone 3G Factory Reset Question

Yes you get caught in an endless reboot if you try to reset through settings if you are Jailbroken.

You will have to restore in iTunes.
