iphone and PAYG free internet brousing?

hi folks,
i was thinking of getting a s/h iphone 3g 16gb and i'd like people on here to confirm whether i can get a free PAYG sim from o2 for the iphone.....just top up by £10 and that allows me to get free internet browsing and email for 12 months?

i saw this on a few other forums that i googled......is this right?

how many hrs browsing a month would i be able to do.....what would it cost per mb over there limit?

any other options so i can web and email on the go....for little money?

the free internet with payg is for the first 12 months, so no you won't get free web or wifi. you will have to purchase a web bolt on

Not free its £10 for the iphone PAYG sim just ask for it in an 02 store.
It has 12 months web and wifi included.

Being a bit pedantic then yes you are correct. The sim is free but needs a £10 top-up to start the 12 months internet & wi-fi. You don't need to top up each month as long as you do the initial top up it works.

It has nothing to do with the age of the iphone!!

so how much surfing in hours am i likely to be able to do per month in the free access 12 months?

i'm just trying to judge how useful it will be.

so i can send and recieve unlimited free emails and browse for 1 year all for a tenner first top up.

I've just run my Iphone like that for the last year.

I kept putting on £10 every few weeks just to cover my phone calls but the web & wifi was free for the year. good eh.

I have recently bought a s/h iPhone, though the handset itself is unused as it was a swap-out for a faulty phone.

I was in the o2 store this morning asking if I bought a new sim with £10 credit would that give me internet access. The person I spoke to didn't know; she thought the free internet access only came with a new iPhone bought from o2, though she asked that I confirm with their Customer Services.

I read an article yesterday in PC Pro saying that O2 has introduced a new tethering package costing £9.79 per month, and if you sign up before 31st December you will receive your home BB free. Not sure how that works as I couldn't find any reference to it on o2's website.

Any comments??

I think you need to buy the phone NEW from the shop to get the free Wi-Fi...

This ad was posted a while ago, but maybe you could talk to them to see how it works. Be careful though, some people are scammers. If you find any problems with the ad, just report it...
