3GS iPhone in car use/conversion

I have a 2005 Land Cruiser which has an in-built/wired car phone system for use with a Nokia 6230i.

I have given my other half the Nokia but I would like to utilise the existing phone wiring to operate/use my 3GS iphone.

Any suggestions how to achieve this?

Could I get a cradle adaptor to click into the Nokia cradle which would charge my 3GS and utilise the speakers when a phone call is received/sent?

Can I get a kit/components etc to adapt what I have?

or any other suggestions?

Jimlad

Re: 3GS iPhone in car use/conversion

The Nokia installed car kits are specific to Nokias. Whilst it's not impossible if you're an electrician, it's not going to be easy to match the wiring of a Nokia to that of an iPhone.

You'd be better off removing it and installing a Bluetooth car kit instead and an active iPhone mount (TomTom, Brodit etc) to charge it.

Re: 3GS iPhone in car use/conversion

Thanks RobM83,

I was hoping to at least find someone who knew a company that makes a 'click in' adaptor/converter.

Having read posts in the forum it seems there are mixed reports on using FM kits to relay calls through your on-board car radio systems.

Thaks for your advice.
