Lightbulb Juicepack Air for iPhone?

Has anyone used or heard about the Juicepack Air from Morphie?

juice pack airā„¢ - iPhone 3G & 3G S - Batteries

It's a slim case plus integrated power booster

I saw this advertised in a magazine an it looks really cool. Wondered if anyone has seen one or used one and if it addsmuch bulk to the iPhone?

Re: Juicepack Air for iPhone?

I've got one.

I like it, I'm not chained to a desk all day and I dont like in car chargers trailing cables everywhere so this is great for me, doubles the life of my iphone so I can watch videos, surf, play games and not worry about running out of juice.

It does add a bit of bulk but you do get used to it.

I have a griffin reveal for those days when I dont need the extra power.

Re: Juicepack Air for iPhone?

Thanks KDC. Are we talking much extra bulk/weight? I'd prefer to leave it attached all the time, but I suppose its easy to take out of the "case"?
Cheers.

Re: Juicepack Air for iPhone?

I've got one as well. They don't add much bulk and for me make it better to hold.

Negatives - charger cable is proprietary

Why not see one in your local Apple store - that's where I bought one!

Re: Juicepack Air for iPhone?

not a lot of bulk, an extra bit on the bottom for the dock and slightly thicker, not much more than if you had a rebel or slider case on it.

The connector isnt propriertary, its micro usb. you can use the standard apple usb power supply and just connect the usb - mirco usb cable to that to power directly off the mains.

and as its a slider style case it does come apart easily if you want to take the phone out.

Warning to potential purchasers

I bought one on Saturday from the Apple Store Lakeside. The first time I tried to connect the supplied cable to the mini-USB socket, it broke off inside the casing. When I returned it they said it was not the first one they'd had back with that fault. I opted for a refund rather than replacement.

Re: Juicepack Air for iPhone?

I have read a couple of reviews saying there can be problems with quality of manufacture and failures.

Re: Juicepack Air for iPhone?

I also have the juice pack air and have had it since June of this year.

I only use it when i know i am going to be out all day (normally football trips).

It has been very handy, the only problem i had is that i snapped the top when trying to take it apart, it is sometimes very stiff to take it off.

I bought a replacement cap from the mophie site for around £7.

In my opinion, it is a worthwhile addition.

To be honest, I wasn't that disappointed when it broke. Although (as has been said before) it doesn't add massive bulk to the iPhone, it does spoil the lines somewhat. I bought a car USB charger instead.

Re: Juicepack Air for iPhone?

As an alternative I've just bought a Leather Case Cover with a 2200mAh Battery and Charger (which almost triples your iPhone battery life!) $19.76.

http://images.monoprice.com/productl...ages/58661.jpg

For only $17.47 each when QTY 50+ purchased - Leather Case Cover w/ 2200mAh Battery and Charger For iPhone 3G 3GS | iPhone iPod Back up External Battery and Charger

They also have a 2200mAh battery extender / charger for $14.50

http://images.monoprice.com/productm...ages/54801.jpg
For only $12.82 each when QTY 50+ purchased - iPhone Backup Battery Pack (2200mAh) | iPhone iPod Back up External Battery and Charger

The plus side is the increadible extra battery life, plus the unbelievable price. The down side is they are in the US and shipping is via UPS, so isn't cheap. Still it comes in less than the cost of the Juicepack.

Re: Juicepack Air for iPhone?

Just a quick question, can you use this with the incipio feather left on?

Edit: I am talking about the leather case posted above not the juice pack, thanks

Did you buy it direct from them?

Re: Juicepack Air for iPhone?

To use the leather power case you do need to remove any other jacket you keep your iPhone in as it is a nice snug fit on it's own.

And yes I did buy it direct from them. You do need to email them a copy of your credit card and ID for fraud reasons the first time you buy from them. Once they had received that it took about a week to arrive.
