Orange shop and iTunes

I just upgraded to an iPhone in my local Orange shop and was told I have to have it registered to iTunes instore. I wanted to open the package myself at home at my leisure. She said I cannot do that.

Is this true? Do they get a commission for any iTunes purchases?

Thanks,

Jon

Yes, but the point is I wanted to open it at home. I asked her why she had to do it instore and she said to prevent phone unlocking. I said what about phones that are posted out. She didn't really have an answer for that.

So, do you have to have them open the package instore?

You didn't with O2, but then I've always found Orange very inflexible as a network, ie telling me I'll breach my contract using their sim in a non Orange handset

Re: Orange shop and iTunes

Just upgraded to an iPhone instore. They said I will receive several texts within the next 24 hours. She warned me about using the internet until I receive the appropriate texts else I will be charged extra. Something to do with not having internet in the first instance. Anyone know what she is on about and what texts I must wait for before I can use the internet?

Apologies if this doesn't appply to the iphone (not been Orange for a few years). Orange use SIM updates to add or alter products or services to your account. Usually a case of open, read, delete each message turning your phone off and on between messages.
