My unlocked iPhone 2G and Orange

I currently have a iPhone 2G unlocked on Orange. Now that Orange do the iPhone will I still have to keep unlocking it every time I do a software update or will it be open to receive my sim card?

Your phone will be locked to it's original carrier, so if it was O2 then they can unlock it for you.

If it was a carrier from abroad you will still need to jailbreak it.
