No 3G symbol on unlock iphone

No 3G symbol on unlock iphone

Hi all,

I have unlock my iphone 3gs and now using an orange sim card, but the only thing which is not working is i am not getting the 3g symbol, I have been in the centre of Nottingham City centre and where i live but all i can get is gprs.

These are the setting i am using. Cellular Data:

APN: orangeinternet
Username: user
Password: pass

MMS:
APN: orangemms
Username: Orange
Password: Multimedia
MMSC: http://mms.orange.co.uk
MMS Proxy: 192.168.224.10:8080
MMS Max Message Size: leave blank
MMS UA Prof URL: leave blank

If anyone has any ideas, please respond.

I just unlocked my iPhone by O2 I have exactly the same problem with orange and three sim, now even o2 don't have 3g sign. What happened.

i have officially unlocked my iphone under O2. I have put in an orange sim and it says no service, waiting for activation. It is taking forever.

What have i done wrong?

Its been reported on other forums that Orange give out 2g sims by default

Have you connected the phone to iTunes since you got the text and put your Orange SIM in? You'll need to do this just once in order for the official unlock to actually be applied to the phone - after that any SIM should work, as long as the network who provide the SIM haven't blocked it (perhaps due to long-term non-use). Is it a new Orange SIM you are trying to use? Maybe contact Orange to make sure it is active.

orange payg sims HAVE TO BE a green color to be 3g the yellow ones are 2g only, o2 all sims are 3g as far as i know

I have been running a normal payg sim in my iPhone and I've never had a 3G signal. Various calls to o2 have confused them with what I'm trying to say!

All I ever have is Edge. And it's a 3G sim.
