I have my iphone on order from Orange and I have ordered a feather case, are there any other essentials I need for it?

Also can I use a bluetooth GPS receiver for it for google maps etc?

Can you use a BT one aswell as the built in ones aren't always that great.

It's been built in since the 3G was released and it works just fine. The only external GPS receiver is the £99 TomTom car kit and many are reporting it makes f-all difference to performance.

Personally speaking, the internal one does me proud and my standalone Navigon unit has sat dormant since buying the Navigon software. Plenty of discussion on this topic in the App Store forum though, so have a search.

It was mainy for biking/walking as I have found my other built in GPS phone isn't as good as the 44 channel bluetooth one so I usually use that as it is better under trees etc. I will give it a go, is there nay decent walking/cycling stuff for the ipod, I a usually use the OS maps from memory map.

Re: iphone questions

Read the threads about Sat Nav software (TomTom, CoPilot, Navigon) in the App Store forum and see what you think.

Google Maps is onboard but requires a data connection, which might not be suitable if you're out in the sticks walking.

I have heard they might be doing memory map for it early next year. I have downloaded the geocaching and the trails app, they should suit for now, thanks.
