Hi, my first 3gs I had back light issues, where from tine to time the screen would be really dull, ( didn't have the light sensor on), wouldn't notify of text occasionally and wouldn't light up when I got a text from time to time. Got my second from an apple shop, had the same back light issue within a couple of hours of getting it, so went back to the shop and swapped it for a third which has the same issues! Am I just unlucky or do there seem to be issues with most of them?

From my experience you will find most iPhones have problems, be it dust & dead pixels, uneven screens, mis-aligned bezels or slight hardware issues.

The build quality and QA isn't fantastic.

Oh right, thanks for your response, guess I'll just have to put up with issues as the next one could have the same problems.

I have had to have one phone replaced due to a cosmetic defect cover under warranty.

The good thing about Apple is unlike most other manufactures you don't need to jump through hoops to get it fixed or replaced.

Oh right, yeah, got to admit, all the people I have dealt with have been very helpful, have u had any problems similar to the ones I have had?

Dark marks appeared on one screen, on another the touch stopped working, GPS broke on one, last one just shut itself down and refused to restart....

....it's getting a bit embarrassing going back to the shop. I really look after my iPhone, I think the comments about the build quality are probably true.

Im on number 3 in 12 months!

first one lasted 7 hours before all I got was the apple logo flashing on and off!

second one lasted 3 months then every time I tried to make a call got "call failed" and previously full signal went to zero and phone then locked up.

Im on number three now and have been since january but its develpoed the well known back of the case crack from the docking port!

But I do love it!

for balance, mines has been 100% fine, as has 4 friends of mine.

Oh right, yeah, I know what you mean, I was a bit embarrassed going back into the apple store a couple hours after getting the second phone to get that swapped over, have you had a similar problems I have had, such as the back light coming up really dull and not notifying you when you have a text?

I had a 2g that was fine and now have a 3gs, again perfect. I think they are great. Maybe you just get friday afternoon phones.

Nope, not had those probs (yet ). I do like my iPhone, for all the fancy apps, email, internet etc; but it's a bit of a rubbish phone in my opinion. Often drops calls, fails to connect etc. Still, you can't have everything....then again, I could get an iPod touch and a better phone
