Advice please..

im having issues with my iphone 3g in the last week.
My battery is draining COMPLETELY from full charge after about a 8/9hrs. since i noticed it happen i stopped myself from using anything other then making the odd call or text message, no app use, brightness turned down, push/fetch turned off, anything that ive read online about helping battery life, but its just dropping battery like mad. even last nite when i went to bed it was about 3/4's full, and when i awoke it had the low battery sign asking my to plug in.
ive also noticed that my wifi signal on the phone is playing up, and its only recognising my network when im sitting directly next to the router. i go into other rooms where i have good wifi signal (like on my 360 and ps3) and it just goes back to 3g....i even rebooted the router and it didnt help.

i done a complete restore yesterday without using a backup to see if that would help...but still no joy!

so basically, im trying to weigh out my options...
in July i bought a replacement iphone from apple for £139 as i cracked my original screen....would they offer me a replacement without charge?
my other option i was thinking, as im due for contract renewal in Jan, do u think o2 would offer me some sort of upgrade now to a 3GS?

or is there anything else someone could recommend?

thanks

other details:

OS 3.1.2 (7D11)
3G 8GB

Re: Advice please..

If you bought a replacement in July then it will still be covered by their gtee. So that should me you can take it back and they will fix it or give you a replacement.

If they offer you a replacement, rather than to fix it, you could ask for a 3gs and pay the difference.
