Hi could anyone shed some light on this for me.

Im with Three, overdue an upgrade and would love a iphone.

Just rang them and they flat-out denied stocking iphones.

If this is true just how much of a good customer do you have to be ?

Would really like to hear from anyone that has been offered an iphone.

Sounds fishy. I would get your upgrade, sell it on ebay then buy unlocked iphone with the proceeds. You won't be disappointed trust me and I run a 2g and 3g phone - they have changed my life. Email on the move, facebook and messaging on the move, gps on 3g phone etc etc. Simply the best gadget I have ever owned!!!!! Get one!!!!

hi just had a upgrade from 3 and thinking of doing just that.
are there any restrictions on running a a unlocked iphone on 3 (or any other network)
i.e getting stuff from itunes etc

But his newly bought iPhone won't be unlocked and an unlock through jailbreaking may be a few month away....if ever!!

If Three supply iPhones and they design the Skype on 3 app, I won't mind signing up even for a 36 month contract!

There are no restrictions i run these with no problems. My itunes account runs fine, i can buy apps etc all as normal.

theres already an unlock for 3.2 iphones not posting the link but its easy enough to find came out a couple of days after black rain im going to unlock mine for when i go to the us so i can have free 3g :-) for my co pilot sat nav on the phone

if you plan on buying a new iphone 3gs and plan to unlock the network to use on 3 contract then you need to do your research first. It’s possible to unlock iPhone 3.1.2 but only if your baseband has not been updated to 05.11.07 or the newer baseband. Otherwise your stuck with an unlocked phone.

I was after anyone who has received or been offered an iphone from three. This has become another unlocking thread !

I could just move to another network but im happy with service where I live.

Already thought about taking n97 as upgrade selling but as others have pointed out iphones with lastest firmware can be jailbreaked but not unlocked for other networks RIP OFF GB strikes again !

I called to get my PAC last month from 3. CS guy on the other end tried his best to retain me for another month, so that they can offer iPhone. He mentioned agreement were on papers and it can happen anytime.

PS. I was using 3SIM, since the launch of iPhone 3G (with yellowsnow)

There is no unlock for the 5.11 baseband at the moment.

I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong though

I am using a 3G 16GB unlocked on 3 which I got off eBay for £290. It works out much cheaper than paying for a contract. There are even places online that offer instant cashback if you take a basic phone, or if you are not a heavy user you could ask 3 for a cheaper contract
