Settings when switching SIMs

I am currently working overseas and am back in the UK this weekend.

Can anyone confirm which settings I need to change so I get full service (Calls, SMS, MMS, 3G) when I'm there? I have a Vodafone SIM with data enabled to use when I'm there.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Settings when switching SIMs

Is it the vodafone UK settings you are after

for 3G & MMS - goto Settings/General/Network/Cellular Data Network/
Cellular data
APN: internet
username: web
password: web

MMS - NB. for this option you must have iPhone OS3.0 firmware installed
APN: wap.vodafone.co.uk
username: wap
password: wap
MMSC: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms/
MMS proxy: 212.183.137.012 (note the leading zero in the last octet)

leave the rest blank

Re: Settings when switching SIMs

If I wasn't bothered about sending multimedia messages could I just change the cellular data settings? Or does MMS do more than that nowadays?

I really just want 3G Internet access.

Re: Settings when switching SIMs

You can leave the mms settings if you don't want them. When I originally unlocked my phone my mms settings were incorrect and everything worked apart from mms.

Re: Settings when switching SIMs

Thanks all.

Note for anyone else that views thread:

The cellular data APN is 'internet' for contract SIMs only. I had to use (for PAY&GO):

APN: pp.vodafone.co.uk
username: wap
password: wap
