Contacts not showing up in contacts

I'm having a strange problem with the contacts on my 3Gs. Often when I enter a new contact then go into contacts the contact is nowhere to be seen. However if I do a search it finds the contact and selecting that contact brings up the contact card and details. So if the contact is somewhere on my phone why is it not showing up in contacts?

Re: Contacts not showing up in contacts

Just a thought, but could it because you have different groups set-up?
If you go into contacts, you should have an button in the top left-hand corner... What happens if you press that?

Re: Contacts not showing up in contacts

Ok it seems that if I add the contact via the contacts app + button it's ok, but if I do it via the phone (adding entered number to new contact) it does not apear. Anyone got any ideas?

Re: Contacts not showing up in contacts

Well this is odd. I tried to re-import my sim contacts to see if they were on there but nothing showed up so I though maybe there was no contacts on my sim anymore. Then I went into contact settings and changed the display order to 'last, first' and all missing contacts then apeared including my sim contacts and ones I thought I deleted. Changed back to 'first, last' and all seems fine.

Only thing I can think of is that two apps I use (sync in a blink and MyFriend+) which modify my contacts have messed something up.

Has anyone else ever seen anything like this before?

Only thing I
