Griffin Autopilot (not FM tuner version) and iPhone 3GS

Anyone using a Griffin Autopilot with their 3GS? I have been looking into this and it seems some people think it does and some think it doesn't.

I have the non-FM one and am using 3GS 3.1.2

Can anyone confirm they get a good car speaker connection when connecting the 3.5mm to the cigarette lighter thingy and then to iphone docking port?

I have to fiddle with the 3.5mm end in the car AUX for it to come out of all speakers properly. If I do direct 3.5mm to 3.5mm (missing out the cigarette thingy completely) I have no problems so its not the car AUX, the 3.5mm lead or my phone.

Thanks
