Unhappy Please, please help......................

..................before I launch my iPhone out of my window.

I am having problems sending any emails. I can receive them fine, but when I try to send the progress bar does not move for ages, and then eventually reads a message saying

" Could not connect to server smtp.o2.co.uk, go to settings to add another account"

Now, initially I was using my ISP settings for outgoing mail (Wanadoo). After that didn't work, I looked on the forums and found out that all mail regardless of ISP has to go through o2.

So, I added a new account, put my o2 email details in, disabled the primary account (Wanadoo) and everything was fine.

But as of last night, I am no longer able to send emails.

I've listed the outgoing settings I have in my phone, in the hope someone can spot a glaring mistake.

(under 'Other SMTP Servers'. The Primary Sever is 'off' as this has the details of my ISP smtp)

Server: On
Host Name: smtp.o2.co.uk
User Name: andrewsebastian@o2.co.uk
Password: ****
Use SSL: Off
Authentication: Password
Server Port: 25

Thanks very, very much in advance for any light which can be shed.

Cheers

Andy

Hi mate. I tried using the Wanadoo settings, but when I press send it immediately comes back with the message 'connection to smtp.wanadoo.co.uk failed'.

Any other suggestions???

Thanks for your reply mate. I'm going to sound like a dumbass here, but can you explain to me what difference that would make?

Thanks

DONE IT!!!! Thanks for that mate.

I set up a Yahoo email account, and then created a new account on the iPhone. I then went into Windows Mail and changed the message rules to forward to the Yahoo account (like you said). Works like a dream

Still a bit miffed to why it wouldn't work before, but to be honest I don't care.

Thanks for all the replies
