Angry 02 Unlimited Text Bolt On

I just wondered how many people have this on their package. I was offered this when I went through the order process, I missed it by mistake. I have tried adding it but now they are telling me I cant have it. I am not happy with this shame of a service from 02. I have e-mailed them complaining about this as the phone lines are shut now. I am fuming as well so maybe just as well.

Re: 02 Unlimited Text Bolt On

Hi,

Sorry I can't answer your question, but sounds pretty cool if they do do a Unlimited Text's Bolt on, but bet they'll be a catch like it'll be O2 to O2 phones only or something like that.

Regards

Mark.

Re: 02 Unlimited Text Bolt On

I got my 3gs on launch day at 9am and when I asked about them, they made a call to head office who confirmed they didn't do the unlimited bolt on anymore, so I'm surprised you've been told you can have it.

They stopped it completely at the end of May.

It was also listed on the order page less than 21 days ago so the offer was there. Also, looking around the net people are still getting it, I dont even think 02 know what they are doing. Shody at best springs to mind.

Re: 02 Unlimited Text Bolt On

My Missus is with O2 and she has the unlimited text bolt on, plus one or two others. It's unlimited texts to all networks. She's been with O2 for a good while and is also a "priority customer", but I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

Re: 02 Unlimited Text Bolt On

LoL, same here, but probably not so much when using a 'qwerty' keyboard on the phone, but can see me easily going over the 500 inclusive messages a month.

Smile Re: 02 Unlimited Text Bolt On

Hi I added that to my package after I took the contract, no problems. I have been with 02 a while. Just ask you would like to add it, You'll be paying for it so what's the problem

Its unlimited to any UK network £7.50 I think but when you add it its for a minimum of 3 months texts only no mms, that eats into my 500 text allowance 4 at a time

I must easily average around 2000 texts a month so an extra £7 for 1500+ texts is brilliant!

Re: 02 Unlimited Text Bolt On

I got mine when I took out my 3gs contract. Absolutely no issues at all. I wasn't an o2 customer before my iPhone either.

The bundle is quality especially if you send 2500+ texts a month.

Re: 02 Unlimited Text Bolt On

I complained about this and amazingly they have added it to my package. Makes me wonder if they try it on first so you end up paying more for less. Got what I wanted in the end

Re: 02 Unlimited Text Bolt On

Excellent work, I popped into an O2 shop yesterday asking about the Bolt on and they said that it was stopped for some reason back in May for a couple of weeks, and then they started it back up again!!!

Re: 02 Unlimited Text Bolt On

Just to update this thread, i couldnt find this bolt on online so i phoned O2. They woman assured me the unlimited text bolt on has now finally finished. Alternatively they offer 500 extra texts for £7.50. Which will do for me really. 1000 texts should suffice.

Re: 02 Unlimited Text Bolt On

I'm due for an upgrade at the end of November and the iPhone is on my list of possibilities. I currently pay 35pm for 600 mins and unlimited texts, I'm guessing I'll have to go over to a contract without the unlimited text and they'll try to make me pay extra or has anyone upgraded from a similar contract to an iPhone before and they've allowed you to keep the current contract?

Thanks

You could continue your current contract and upgrade to the best phone possible, sell the upgrade and buy and payandgo iphone. The best your going to get on an iphone contract is 500 texts.

Re: 02 Unlimited Text Bolt On

Hopefully by November Orange will have launched the iPhone too so they may offer a competitive alternative with more texts. Even if you don't want to move to Orange, O2 may update their iPhone tarriff in response to what Orange offer.

If Orange don't offer anything better then as20's advice would be a good way of going about it. Alternatively you could just get the iPhone on PAYG and move to a Simplicity SIM (if you don't want to go through the faff of selling phones). With Simplicity you could either get 600 mins, 1200 texts and unlimited data for £19.58 on a simple rolling one month contract, or if you needed more texts you could either sign up for the 12 month version which would give 800 mins, 1600 texts, unlimited data for the same monthly cost, or take unlimited texts as the inclusive bolt on and add unlimited data as an extra onto the basic monthly cost which would end up as £26.92 overall. You would have to work out for yourself whether this would end up being worth the extra upfront cost of getting the iPhone on PAYG rather than a contract phone.

Overall I think as20's would work out cheaper as you could sell the "new non-iPhone" unopened fairly easily and it would hopefully largely offset the cost of the PAYG iPhone - and probably by more than switching to Simplicity would save over a regular monthly contract.

Re: 02 Unlimited Text Bolt On

Thanks for the advice guys, I think with the range of phones being released over the next month or 2 will hopefully be able to either get a good one and sell on as suggested or get O2 to offer me a good deal to stay on with them if I threaten to leave (not holding my breath).
