Purchase a Factory Unlocked 3G[s]? Advice Please

Hi Guys

I love my iphone but also really need it for my work and business and its pretty critical to earning my living.

Been reading the posts on here and MMyi

Therefore, I am thinking of purchasing a factory unlocked iPhone 3G[s] to replace my current jailbroken/unlocked one to ensure that I don't have any issues and also upgrade to 32GB.

Am I right in thinking that:

If I purchase factory unlocked:

A. I will be able to jailbreak (and of course still remain unlocked)?

B. But my phone will not be supported by Apple in the UK as it will be an overseas phone? and you cannot buy UK factory unlocked versions.

Thanks in advance

K

Please use the search function before posting. This thread will be of interest: http://www.avforums.com/forums/iphon...ocked-3gs.html

There are numerous others around too.

But to answer your questions...

A) JB'ing is down to the firmware version and nothing to do with the network lock. If the firmware version you're running can be JB then yes. Currently 3.1 cannot be JB on the 3GS.

B) You will need to purchase Apple Care to get warranty cover on it in the UK.

As said, make use of the search function as there is a lot of good info out there already. Saves you posting and waiting for answers to questions that have already been answered.
