javascript on safari

javascript on safari

i using safari on my iphone 3gs and wanted to go to the google home page but when i put it in the address bar the page loads but is blank.

i went to settings and saw that javascript was off so im not sure what this does but all other settings were on so i put this on and went back to safari and loaded google again and it worked. standard google home page.

can some1 explain what javascript does and if u have it on or off. also google images wouldnt show without javascript being on.

javascript is a coding language used on a lot of websites. it can be used for many things such as showing information in the status bar of a browser window to validation of online forms.

keeping it on will not harm your iphone.

Ok thanx for the info. Do u use it or have it off. It just seems strange that If it's something that would make the browser better that it's off as standard. Not sure why google homepage or images won't work without this being on

i've never actually changed the default. i've just checked and it's set to 'on'.
