Does the number of Apps on the phone affect speed

Does anyone know if the number of Apps that you have installed on the iphone affect the speed of opening / running in any way.

If it does it will hardly be noticeable. One thing I notice when moving from page to page if the page is full it seems slower to move to then if say the page only has 3 icons on it. Thats to be expected though I guess. This is the first time im using the iphone un-jailbroken and it seems lightening fast to me!

Try donwloading categories from cydia. Use it to make folders and place your apps in there. This will reduce the number of screens you have. Not sure it will improve over all speed but it's meant to stop your phone crashing due to too many apps and screens.

I just uninstalled categories as it slowed my phone down

Categories causes more problems then its worth. Stupid app, if you want folders try a windows mobile

Categories works fine on my phone, but I have other problems that some of you may not. I think thats the problem with jailbreaking people will have varied experiences with apps from cydia.
