Iphone 3Gs a former Nokia fans thoughts!

I’ve been a Nokia fan all my mobile life except for a disastrous 6 month flirtation with Samsung, never do that again.
But decided to go over to the iPhone when the 3Gs come out and got one the first day it came out. So thought I would publish my thoughts.
Firstly I love it cannot see me ever going back to an ordinary phone it exceeds all my expectations with only a few gripes.
Love it's ease of use do not miss buttons at all. I’ve got an app for anything that I want it for, I find my self trying to think of something it will not do!
Was able to play with a friends N97 few days ago and was disappointed with it awful touch screen and hated the keyboard.
But like I said earlier there are a few things that stop making it the perfect phone for me
No 1 is the battery life which is pretty crap I have to charge mine everyday and if I was a business man it would really annoy me. But because I’m in all day its not that much of a problem.
The other main problem is lack of Flash support but keep hoping it will be sorted.
I’m sure there are loads out of people with bigger issues but think I will now be an Apple fan the rest of my mobile life!

Add not being able to run apps in the background and yup, fix them and you would be close to getting the perfect package. Oh and before anyone says, YES, I know you can do this after a JB, but I've found the slow-down after JB'ing outweighs the benefits funnily enough...

It's ridiculous that you can't at least listen to audio streams from apps when you leave them (e.g. Simplify Media, last.fm, Spotify etc.)

If you JB and downloaded backgrounder the difference would hardly be noticeable. The slowdown is mainly from themes, winterboard etc etc.

Re: Iphone 3Gs a former Nokia fans thoughts!

my prev phones where n80 and n95, other than the clunkyness of the symbian system software i think the nokias where a far freer system to use day to day - background apps etc, the biggest gripe i have with iphone is safari - its a lot nicer to use and read on the iphone, but its no where near the speed of opera on my trusty old n95!!

i think battery bette on my iphone - but this is comparing to my n95!!

i cant go back now tho! its just a far more polished & slick os, and it just works.....

The N95 8GB is still right up there in my all time great phones. Absolutely superb phone that is.

And Symbian is a great OS, it's just not a great touch-screen OS and that has been Nokias biggest mistake IMO, trying to tart it up to work on touch devices.

My N95 8GB is also one of my all time fav phones, along with the good old 6600 that I had in about 2003 (first symbian phone I had). As good as they were my iphone is still my favourite phone, if only it had a radio it would be (almost) perfect.

Agree I enjoyed my time with N95 8gb but the iphone is in a class of its own.
