Restore/rest iphone without o2 sim

is this possible?
Got a screen error, bottom slide bar don't respond

Looked this up and a simple restore may cure this issue, I don't have an o2 sim

Do you need to activate when you restore? I can't remember! You need an o2 to activate the phone.

Got a mate you can quickly borrow a sim from? Else you can get a free one from the o2 site.

reckon a restore would solve the problem???

bottom slide bar don't work, mind you it has been dropped just gotta take back covcer off (which i cant do) to pop back in correctly

if you restored it will restore it to 3.1 wont it? in which case you cant jailbreak and unlock - so you would have to be on O2 anyway.

or am i missing something here?!

yeah gonna use a cracked version, hold shift when click restore i have 3.0.1 saved to desktop

eventually found what i needed, just need a damned sim now
