iPhone 3G 16GB sync problems

Last week I opened up my iTunes library and all the music videos and apps had disappeared. I tried in vain to restore the library but to no avail. As I only had about 7gb of material on it I decided to create a new library and sync with that.

Sadly this has not worked. Tried restore still no joy, and no music etc on phone

. I have changed the cable, inserted cable into different USB port-still no joy.

Somebody help please!!!!!

I have a PC running Windows XP Home

Is the music still on your PC? But just not showing in iTunes?

No I can get it showing in iTunes but when I connect iPhone to PC it goes through the sync proceedure, no errors reported, says sync complete ok to disconnect. I disconnect then examine iPhone but no music etc transferred over.

What options are ticked in the Music settings when your iPhone is connected to iTunes? What playlists are ticked?

Try making a new playlist and putting a few odd songs into it and synchronising that.

Tried making a new playlist after restore no joy with that either. iPhone currently music free! Thankfully using Air Sharing Pro to watch video to keep me entertained when I'm out and about. Have also upgraded to iTunes 9 to see of that would help. Still no joy.
