Albums on 3GS since 3.1 update

Hello,

Since I updated to v3.1 albums I ripped from CD's using Windows Media Player show as a new album per song (so if 20 songs I get the same album 20 times) The albums downloaded from iTunes do not do this and show just as 1 album. This has only started happening since I updated to 3.1 from 3.0.1
Is there a setting I cna change to fix this?

Re: Albums on 3GS since 3.1 update

That happened on my 3GS before 3.1, didn't bother trying out how to fix it so I'm afraid I'm no help apart from suggesting it might not just be OS3.1 causing it.

I think there was a way of manually assigning songs to an album, maybe load one song then drag and drop the rest in to the album, but I'm afraid I can't rememeber the exact steps.

Re: Albums on 3GS since 3.1 update

try looking at the info on each song if they are different they will show as different albums, i,e artist artist title, album and year.

if the album is Kings Of Leon this is a different album to kings of leon, (lower - upper case)

then you will see the songs will group together, it seems that windows media has named some songs slightly different to each other

Good call, might be that on mine as it was a Hed Kandi album (lots of different artists), however the other mix albums I've synched work ok. I'll see if there's a difference in iTunes tonight, meanwhile that's the least of my worries

When that happens, I just select all the songs from the album that are separated, go on info and tick the part of a compilation box.

Bugger, I just spotted that seconds ago and was just about to post it! Fair play you beat me to it

Seems to me you have to select a track in iTunes, get info -> info -> tick "part of a compilation" individually for every single track that's part of the compilation, unless there's a quicker way?

EDIT: Yep there's a quicker way, instead of album cover view use the list-of-all-tracks view, sort by album, click the top track in the compilation, shift-click the bottom to select 'em all then right click etc. Job done
