High pitched noise when sending messages

Hi guys, I googled the above and seems to be a common thing. I noticed that when sending a message a short high pitched noise is emitted from the ear piece.

Also happens when the charger is plugged in after the charging chime
.
Is it a fault or something?

surprised its not been mentioned before on here - we avforumers are ususally very picky about this stuff.

This happens to my iphone 3GS also, I called Apple but i'll have to travel 50 miles to the nearest store to get it checked out

As far as I am aware all iPhone 3GS's (& maybe older models) emit a high frequency sound after playing some sounds eg locking the phone.

Hopefully it gets sorted in 3.1
