Help Iphone will not switch on

HI i set up my work email on my phone using microsoft exchange. I set my password correctly (or so i thought) Every time you then unlock phone (slider) it asks for the password i typed the password in, but it kept "saying wrong password iphone is disabled wait one minute kept trying said wait 15 mins, Now it wont switch on. I've tried to restore (using Home key and on off button) the apple logo comes up then after a few seconds the phone goes off again. I've also tried to connect to itunes but the phone doesn't show up. What have i done? Have i locked the phone? What can i do next? IT is jailbroken by the way.
Please help

I know you say you tried to restore, but did you:

Hold Power + Home button until Apple logo appears THEN release Power but keep Home button pressed until the USB/Itunes screen appears.

) Do i HAVE to restore on itunes now losing my Jailbreak?

Well TBH I dont know if that is youre only way round it. I dont even know if it will work. I have never used a passcode on the iphone so dont know what happens when you try to get round it. Sorry.
