iPhone on other Networks - IT JUST WORKS

To save people searching or looking for information...YES, YOU CAN USE YOUR ORANGE/VODAFONE/T-MOBILE/INSERT OTHER OPERATOR HERE SIM IN YOUR IPHONE AND IT WILL NOT EXPLODE (unlike my head in a minute).
Apps work, calls work, texts work, MMS works, iTunes works.

Sorry, the amount of times this pops up is starting to do my head in. It's strange because on forums I'm usually really calm and let things just slide by. But this iPhone section is just full of the same things over and over again

Think I need to take a break

You need to get the T-Mobile Camera App from cydia first.

I'm breathing, I'm breathing.

That doesn't mean people will read it.

There is a search function also, but people ignore it.

And you can even search within a thread to find specific comments and info, but that's also too complicated.

Desmo... I share your pain

Re: iPhone on other Networks - IT JUST WORKS

Will the SIM work or will it be a different shape? Will I need an adaptor for it? I read you need to be on 3.0 is that right still for Orange? If I put a smiley face in an SMS and sent it to my mate on Vodaphone will it come out properly?

Classic

I can see it now...you go out on your lunch break and see a bunch of people licking their screens.

You think to yourself, "Ah they must be sending a smiley on an iPhone on Vodafone".

Excuse me for being a Prude, but this post is more a waste of time than the duplications of posts that are on here each day.

This is just taking the michael out of those who maybe haven't searched properly or missed something and need help, o like me dont have time to wade through multiple page and just need a litle help

This is the 2nd post in so many weeks where a senior contributer has had a winge because they dont like the threads that on here, dont reads them then! Look at only the ones that interest you! But please dont come on here mocking other forum members for asking questions that they need help with , either be helpful and point them in the right direction or just leave it alons

And as for getting wound up ..... Its just a forum about a mobile phone , its not really a big thing now is it?

Ive reported this post and asked that it be deleted - Sorry

I dont think it needs deleting, I think its probably more of a frustration post rather than repeating information already available elsewhere.

But I will close it because it cant really go anywhere from here.

Re: iPhone on other Networks - IT JUST WORKS

For many people looking to buy an iPhone then I can imagine they will be confused as they will only be sure of one thing and that is at this time O2 have exclusive carrier rights to the iPhone. Naturally those people will want to continue to use the operator or tariff which they are with on the iPhone

Not everybody will be aware of what is possible. In 7 years all I have done is change my Nokia 6230 for a 6230i but am in the unusual position of having working knowledge of the latest developments in mobile phones

The current situation may not be ideal as I accept not all people will be inclined to search for an answer and will create a new topic to obtain one all the same. I will discuss with my fellow moderators and the site owner on more suitable arrangements

I am closing this thread but leaving my post here. I am going shopping so do not want to find drama when I am back
