I have an orange contract sim and all is well. You will have to manually set it up for mms etc but its easy to do.

Re: Iphone 3GS on Orange

I was told on Saturday that the iPhone 3g WILL be coming to Orange during September. There tariffs will be far more competitive than O2.

This was from an Orange employee in-store near where i live.

I'm going to keep posting this until somebody meets my challenge....

Find me a tariff on another network that offers everything the iPhone tariff does, for enough of a saving to show the O2 option is not competitive.

What phone did you get with that? If none, then that's not exactly a bargain compared to the O2 deals. More messages but no unlimited WiFi, your 'unlimited' data has a limit, no visual voicemail and you save only £5/m. Yet you have to go out and fund the iPhone yourself. Your £5 per month saving over 18 months saves £90 to go towards your iPhone... can you get a 3G/3GS for that much?

So still, what networks offer a better value deal than the 'rip off' O2 iPhone contracts?

Re: Iphone 3GS on Orange

I got a HTC Hero and £100 cash... sold the htc and used the 100 cash to get an iphone 3gs payg, unlocked it..
Not really bothered about visual voicemail wouldn't use it, rang orange the other day and they said even tho it says 500mb, its unlimited soo hope it is.

so on the uppside paying £30 a month for 18 months, free iphone 3gs, unlimited text. not stuck in a 24 month contract with o2, saving 5 quid a month and not having to pay 87.11 for the phone

on the downside, the free wifi hotspots u get with o2, but can try and live with out that

Also get a better orange signal rather than o2 where I live which another reason I went with orange.
