Just a quick question, advice please!!!!

Ive got an Iphone 8gb, jailbroken an unlocked. Everything was working fine until now, cydia will not load up, it tries to but then just shuts down!! This is annoying so i want to restore my phone and then re jail break and unlock, my question is this, Once I have restored the phone I will need a 02 chip in the phone in order to activate and jailbreak it but the only 02 chip I have is one of those ones that you get for free through the post, I have put it in the phone and i get signal and all that but when I ring the number it wont connect?? Is this because I have to put credit on it first?? If so does this mean until I do put credit on it I wont be able to use it to activate and jailbreak my Iphone?? Thank for any help and advice you might be able to give!
Lee.

I'm not sure, but I think it will work. I think the phone just checks for an O2 SIM rather than actually checking if you have any type of signal or credit, etc. Don't quote me on that though.

Understand

Have you not got any friends or family on O2? You only need the SIM for a couple of minutes.

Nope no need to have credit or even call anyone, providing the SIM is 'active' it will work, when you plug into iTunes it will seek a o2 SIM in which case pop it in and then re-jailbreak. Did it with mine no problems.

Re: Just a quick question, advice please!!!!

Thinking about it, I was Orange when I got my iPhone. I popped in my O2 PAYG SIM before I'd ever had any credit on it and it activated the phone without any problems.
