Hello I am trying to Jailbreak my 3G 3.0 Iphone
Using Iclarified method.
When I get to do the redsnow it stops working at the uploading ramdisk part.
Pop up box says the program has stopped working; do you want to close the program or search the internet for a solution?
I have tried 0.7 & 0.8 both stop at the same bit.
Any suggestions

i just did mine last night, didnt use i-tunes at all like it mentions on your guide.

Nope the answers there did'nt work,
The three second unplug didn't work, Also tried it on another computer and still no joy.

same thing happened to me.

Don't tick the Install Icy box and try again. Just tick the Install Cydia box.

Hello guys

Still no joy
I could JB my old Iphone no problem, but cant get this to work at all.
I tried different IPSW ( incase i downloaded the wrong one )

Eventually done it after about 25 go's.
I think it was just pot luck to be honest.
Just restoring my music and such so hopefully thats it.

dont forget to add Winterboard in Cydia when your done

Please can you post which .ipsw file you are using (full name)

It should be iPhone1,2_3-2.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw

Be careful the 3GS .ipsw file does not work, this starts iPhone2,1.....

I had what sounds like exactly the same issue as you, and it was related to the .ipsw file.

iPhone 3GS running 3.0.1 firmware

downloaded firmware 3.0/7A341

then patched it using the 0.8 version of redSnow

ran first time with no problems and still running 3.0.1 firmware

iPhone1,2_3-2.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw was the one i was using.
I think the problem was more at the redsnow end, It would freeze more or less at the install of ramdisk.
I found it got further when you hold for the full 30 seconds (which you need another clock because that one dissapears after 10 seconds) lol
But i have it working now.
Any good repositories to add?
