Safari redirection to mobile websites ?

Has a hack been developed to stop safari being redirected to mobile websites?

The Iphone safari browser can handle most websites just fine and being forced to mobile versions of some websites sucks.

Re: Safari redirection to mobile websites ?

Most of the time there is a link to the normal site on most of the redirected ones so you can go back to what you wanted to look at.
They only redirect so that it dont take as long to load up on 3g or lower.

Re: Safari redirection to mobile websites ?

I found an alternative browser in the app store which only takes you to the full version of websites and misses out the mobile versions entirely.

It's a shame because I can't remember what it was called now and I wanted to go back and get it too.

I think I searched "browser" and just started reading the descriptions, if you have a look i'm sure it'll be there....

I just installed this us faker and in sb setting it shows as being on, however I'm still being directed to mobile sites. How do I configure this thing?

Re: Safari redirection to mobile websites ?

UA Faker works for me, it lets you onto the full iplayer site for example (not that you can watch any of the videos)

I don't think you can toggle it on and off while you're in Safari. Exit safari (completely, either by holding the home button down until it quits, or just close it via Processes in SBsettings). Then enable UAFaker, and re-start safari.

Re: Safari redirection to mobile websites ?

When I toggle UAfaker on my iphone it shuts down the current open session of Safari.

It's worked faultlessly for me. Excellent for direct links to sites that have rubbish mobile redirects. i.e. All Microsoft sites
