Samsung i8910 HD to iPhone 3GS

....HAS ANYONE DONE THIS?

I've got the opportunity to sell my i8910 for something else.....what, I don't know!

My main attraction to the Omnia was it's versatility in the video stakes....

On the Omnia, virtually ANYTHING I throw at it will play...divx,xvid etc...and as most of my movie collection is based on these formats - it got my vote!

Don't get me wrong; the Omnia is STILL an awesome phone...but I've got this (opportunity and) niggling feeling that's it's not quite on a par with the iphone for usability....it's not a DOG by any means at all...it's still an excellent phone!

My query regardiong the two phones IF someone has had both is;

Is there something on the Omnia you miss on the iphone...

Is there something on the iphone (3GS) you'd prefer over the Omnia?

Thx if you can advise.....

Re: Samsung i8910 HD to iPhone 3GS

I was kind of in a similar situation...

My choices of phone were the i8910 or the 3GS. I previously had an i900 Omnia and found it very good if a little frustrating too. The speed of the phone was the main bugbear I had. I'm also a massive gadget freak so, got bored with the very limited apps available for the i900 very quickly.

I was a big iPhone sceptic having played with the 2G and 3G models and being disappointed with their operational speed.
The first time I played with the 3GS though, I knew I'd buy one.
It has a big issue for me though and that being the camera. It's absolutely crap. Without the flash, low light photo opportunities are non existent.

I've not played any video's on it yet but, I am impressed with the quality of the ipod music playback. Again, it makes the i900's seem very inferior.

I'm sure someone will be along with advice about video codecs and playback.

Apart from the camera, I can't imagine you'd miss anything from the i8910 if you went for a 3GS.

Re: Samsung i8910 HD to iPhone 3GS

I've been using the Videora iPhone 3G Converter to convert my video files to play on the iphone seems to work rather well so far.
