Batt life???

I am almost ready to purchase a 3gs 16gb, only thing that is holding me back is the poor batt life and the fact that the batt cannot be replaced by the user,

can someone tell me how many hours I would get from a full charge leaving the phone in standby, also how much would it cost to have a new batt fitted by Apple, I would imagine the batt would need replacing every 2-3 years?

Thanks for any info

Re: Batt life???

Apple online and o2 have all the specs, but the battery life is pretty good (for an iPhone). With medium to heavy usage will need charging every day. As for replacing the battery ?????????????????

Re: Batt life???

If I remember correctly, it costs about £70 to have battery replaced by apple, but these people iPhone Battery Replacement :: iPAQ Parts and iPAQ Repairs charge about £42 for the 2g, but I'm not sure about the new 3g/3gs versions
