iPhone Dilemma - Help!

After trying unsuccessfully to buy an iPhone on this forum recently I have ended up with 2! Both myself and my wife bought one, her not knowing I had! Anyway the difficulty is this (both 3g)

iPhone one is an 8gb and I jailbroke and unlocked it - warranty runs out on 28th July 2010.

iPhone two is a 16gb Apple replacement and although brand new the warranty runs out in October of this year.

Dilemma is which one do I keep?

Any thoughts

16gb one mate, you'll find yourself quickly running out of space on the 8GB

Re: iPhone Dilemma - Help!

Extend it with AppleCare?

EDIT: I had an 8GB phone and frankly it just isn't enough. I jumped on the 3GS mainly just so I could have an extra 8GB storage. It really is annoying having to stop putting new music on your iPhone or even delete a load of music to fit more on.

The 3GS is worth the upgrade imo

But then I am a bit of a speed freak

Re: iPhone Dilemma - Help!

If you love your music as I do then the bigger the better. If its just going to be for Apps then 8GB would be fine.

I know there is no firm gaurantee but having owned a variety of iPhones since it was first launched (US launch date too), my experience is that they have all been rock solid in build, quality and reliability, so could be worth gambling on the warranty. Anyway personally go for the 16GB

Re: iPhone Dilemma - Help!

Just to contradict what Mr.X said on warranty (soz mate ). My 3G developed a crack in the plastic with a month's warranty remaining and I had it swapped out by Apple via O². Sometimes a warranty is worth it for peace of mind

Nope you are right I've owned 6 and been lucky but come to think of it when the 3G was first launched there was a lot of people suffering from cracks - I think that has been addressed now but they are probably still out there somewhere!

Re: iPhone Dilemma - Help!

Yes sell both. Pop over to Italy and bring back three 32gb 3GS factory unlocked. Or Australia if you want to make it more of a trip.

One for you, one for your missus and one for me at cost.

Re: iPhone Dilemma - Help!

I too have been trying to buy the new I-Phone both here in Ireland and on the forum, Mr X would not sell to me as I do not have any ratings
The 16Gig 3Gs is 520 euros and the 32 is 609 euros on PAYG......oh and there are none in the country as of yesterday (so O2 and CWH tell me).
I bought the 3G 8 gig for the missus and she is happy tho

I could have done the wire transfer same day, I have both UK and Irish accounts and as YOUR rating was good I would have sent payment in full.
I have just ordered one from O2.ie

Let's keep this OT please folks. If it doesn't contribute to the OP's question and this thread, it's not for discussion here.
