Red face Porting from Voda to o2

Hi,

ok so i had my text message from o2 this morning to my old vodaphone mobile saying it would port the number today,

Do i leave both phones on or turn them both off all day?

at the moment it seems i can call from my iPhone displaying my old number but cant send texts yet or if i ring my old number i get my Vodaphone voice mail (as old mobile is off at the moment)

Anyone know?

Dal

You can leave them on but at some point in the day your vodafone sim card will stop working.

If you have your new phone on, then you will have to restart it once you loose connection on it (no bars). After the restart it should be fine and should have your old number ported over.

Well thats pretty much what happened for me when I ported over my number from 3 to o2 on my iphone 3GS.

thanks very much for the info fella.

my iPhone is on at the moment as i said it will dial out with my ported number but if i call my old number it still goes to Vodaphone.

ill power the old mobile back on and wait for the signal to drop then restart the iPhone.

Thanks

You may have to activate your voicemail by calling 901 from your iphone. First time you call you have to enter a PIN number.
