My contacts on sim not showing

Hi guys,

Just unlocked my 3gs. the contacts that were on my sim card (tmobile) are not showing at all. Is there a setting or something to get this to work?

I was using a g1 before. Is there someway of using the google contacts thing and syncing that with the iphone? I'm just after numbers really, not bothered about emails addys as I don't keep them on my phone. If so could someone be kind enough to tell me how?

Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/Import SIM contacts

I checked my contacts via googlemail and it's saved exactly as whats on my phone. Some where not saved to the sim card due to memory. Can I sync/import these over to the iphone somehow? It's be easier and the contacts have pictures of the people saved with them.
